В США в возрасте 56 лет скончался бывший глава и основатель американской компании Apple Стив Джобс (Steve Jobs). Последние годы он боролся с раком.
Президент США Барак Обама (Barack Obama) почтил память Стива Джобса, назвав его великим мечтателем и новатором. «Стив стоит в ряду величайших американских новаторов — достаточно смелый, чтобы мыслить не так, как все, достаточно решительный, чтобы верить в свои способности изменить мир, и достаточно одаренный, чтобы это сделать», — говорится в заявлении Обамы.
Свои соболезнования в связи со смертью Джобса также принесли глава Facebook Марк Цукерберг, президент Walt Disney Боб Айгер, бывший губернатор Калифорнии и киноактер Арнольд Шварценеггер, а также многие другие. Глава компании Samsung Чой Ги Санг заявил, что Джобс был «великим предпринимателем».
Очень эмоционально отреагировали на сообщение о кончине кумира IT-индустрии пользователи Twitter — миллионы фанатов Apple, сохраняя стилистику созданных Джобсом инновационных технологий, желают ему «покоиться с миром в iРаю».
Стив Джобс ушел из жизни на следующие сутки после презентации новой линии продуктов от Apple, возглавляемой новым директором Тимом Куком. Впервые основатель Apple не присутствовал на презентации, что крайне разочаровало поклонников «яблочных технологий».
